Melanie (maid of honor) is the middle sister and is currently a junior at Gonzaga University. From the moment my 3 1/2 year old self bit her finger on the way home from the hospital, our sisterhood has never been dull. I am so proud of her for all that she has accomplished so far, including a wide variety of community service projects, stellar grades, and her introduction of the world of Harry Potter to me. She is studying abroad in Italy this year, looking to graduate in 2011 with a degree in public relations.
Lauren is the youngest and is our “Hawai’i” sister, born at Kapiolani Medical Center on the island of O’ahu. Though it may be the most cliched saying in the world, I cannot believe how fast she is growing up! She is such a little lady these days, although a fiend on on the soccer fields, usually as a forward/offense. She is going into sixth grade this year at one of the local Catholic schools and will adorn the time-honored, if less fashionable Catholic school girl uniform that I narrowly missed wearing when I was her age.

Adelina is my best friend from college. We randomly met on a school board looking for roommates for our sophomore years and discovered that we both liked to swim. While the swimming jaunt didn’t last very long (we couldn’t get up before 7am!), we became fast friends mostly because of our opposites. Adelina is highly sarcastic and a bit more reserved than I–together we make fun of each other, the world, and whatever else comes to mind. She graduated from Seattle University the same year that I did and has a degree in accounting.

Julia is a very close friend that I originally met back in high school. I cherish our friendship dearly because she’s one of the consistent oldest friends that I have; being uprooted every 3-4 years due to the military means that it’s harder to keep in contact with old friends. Julia and I share a love of all things science and all of its glorious oddness that one wouldn’t normally discuss at the dinner table with polite company. She is the first of my girlfriends to get married back in 2006 and graduated from Seattle University as well with a degree in biology.
